In a major anti-corruption operation, investigative agencies raided the Hyderabad residence of Y.S. Reddy, a senior officer with the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation (VVMC) in Maharashtra’s Palghar district.
The raid led to the recovery of unaccounted cash worth ₹8 crore and gold estimated at ₹23 crore. The action was taken on suspicions of disproportionate assets and possible involvement in corrupt activities.
Officials are now investigating the source of the seized wealth to determine if it was acquired illegally. The development has sparked widespread public concern and intensified calls for greater accountability in municipal governance.
