Renowned actor Satish Shah, best known for his iconic portrayal of Indravadan Sarabhai in the hit TV sitcom Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, passed away at the age of 74 in Mumbai on Saturday.
According to reports, Shah had been battling kidney-related ailments and breathed his last at around 2:30 PM at a city hospital. His family and close associates confirmed the news, sending waves of grief across the entertainment industry.
With a career spanning over four decades, Satish Shah was one of India’s most beloved comic actors. He appeared in more than 250 films and television shows, earning admiration for his impeccable comic timing and versatile acting.
Shah first rose to fame with the cult classic “Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro” (1983) and later became a household name through television shows like Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi, in which he played 55 different roles in 55 episodes.
His film credits include major Bollywood hits such as Main Hoon Na, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, and Om Shanti Om.
Tributes have poured in from colleagues, fans, and celebrities, all remembering Shah as a man who brought joy and laughter to millions. His remarkable sense of humor and contribution to Indian cinema and television will be fondly remembered.
