A Russian drone strike in Ukraine’s Sumy region has killed nine people and injured four others, according to Ukrainian authorities. The incident occurred just hours after rare face-to-face peace talks between Russia and Ukraine in Turkey ended without a ceasefire agreement. Ukraine’s National Police condemned the strike as a “cynical war crime,” while Russia asserted it had aimed at a military equipment facility in the area. Images from the aftermath show a passenger van heavily damaged, its roof blown off and windows smashed. Emergency crews are currently conducting rescue efforts at the scene.
