Two Held With ₹37 Lakh Worth Charas in Naigaon; Vasai Anti-Extortion Cell Busts Smuggling Racket

In a major crackdown on drug smuggling, the Vasai Anti-Extortion Cell, under the leadership of Police Inspector Rahul Rakh, arrested two individuals with a substantial quantity of charas in Naigaon East. The accused have been identified as Prakash Shrikant Thapa, a Nepali national, and Mohd Vaheed Shameem Shaikh.
Acting on a tip-off, the police team apprehended the duo red-handed and recovered contraband valued at over ₹37 lakhs. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Authorities have launched a deeper investigation to uncover the full extent of the smuggling network.
