Palghar : Panic gripped Kalamb Beach in Nalasopara West on September 20 after a tourist’s car was trapped by the rising tide and dragged into the sea.
According to locals, the tourist had parked the four-wheeler dangerously close to the shoreline. As the tide surged, the vehicle was caught in strong water currents and began drifting deeper.
Onlookers and villagers rushed to the spot and launched a dramatic rescue effort. With the help of ropes and teamwork, they managed to pull the car out after a tough struggle.
While the vehicle sustained heavy damage, no casualties were reported. The incident sparked alarm among visitors, with many cautioning against parking too close to the waterline.
Residents noted that similar accidents have occurred earlier and urged tourists to remain alert to tide timings to avoid such mishaps.
