Thane :- The much-anticipated ‘Thane Premier League’, also known as the ‘Deputy Chief Minister Cup Cricket Tournament’, was inaugurated today in Thane. The event is being organized with the joint efforts of Maharashtra Maza Seva Sanstha and Union Cricket Club, under the initiative of former corporator Vikas Repale.
With the aim of encouraging local talent and providing a platform for emerging cricketers, the tournament began on a spirited note. The opening ceremony included a symbolic tribute at the stumps, followed by the toss and a lively batting session, rekindling the love for cricket among the dignitaries.
Prominent personalities present at the event included MP Naresh Mhaske, Thane Assembly Chief Hemant Pawar, former Transport Chairman Vilas Joshi, former corporator and tournament organizer Vikas Repale, and former corporator Mrs. Namrata Bhosale-Jadhav. Several Shiv Sena office bearers, tournament players, and cricket-loving Thanekars also attended the event, adding to the festive sporting atmosphere.
The tournament reflects Shiv Sena’s ongoing commitment to grassroots development in Maharashtra, especially under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
