Thane : The much-awaited Thane Metro 4A project is set to begin its trial run on September 22, marking a big step towards the city’s first metro service. The launch event will be attended by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy CM Eknath Shinde, and Ajit Pawar.
Highlights of the Trial Run
Route: The trial will cover a 10.5 km stretch from Cadbury Junction to Gaymukh.
Public Opening: Services for commuters are expected to begin by year-end, after safety approvals.

Project Status
The Metro 4 and 4A corridor (Vadala–Thane–Kasarvadavali) spans 32.3 km with 32 stations planned.
The Kasarvadavali–Cadbury Junction section is likely to finish by December 2025, Gandhinagar stretch by 2026, and the Vadala extension by 2027.
The 4A extension (Cadbury to Gaymukh) is already 90% complete, raising hopes for smooth metro operations soon.
