Thane: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Thursday inspected ongoing repair works on the pothole-ridden stretch of Ghodbunder Road near Gaimukh in Thane city.
Shinde said that immediate instructions were issued to stain and repair the road following complaints from motorists who faced severe inconvenience due to deep potholes. During a recent review meeting, he had directed that the damaged section be completely removed to the base, followed by grouting with Water Bound Macadam (WBM), asphalt laying, and final mastic coating to prevent frequent pothole formation.
Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik, Thane District Collector Dr. Shrikrishna Panchal, and officials from the Public Works Department were present during the inspection.
