Kalyan, Maharashtra: A 14-year-old girl tragically died after jumping from the 19th floor of her residential building in Kalyan on Thursday. Police said the Class 9 student was deeply distressed over scoring low marks in her recent examination.
The girl, identified as Riddhi Kharade, had returned home around 3 pm after attending her school’s open day. According to officials, she spoke to her elder sister and expressed disappointment about her performance before the incident occurred.
“She then jumped from the 19th floor of the building. We are investigating the matter further,” a police official confirmed.
Authorities are examining all angles while appealing to parents and students to seek timely help and counseling in cases of academic stress.
