Tamil Actor-Comedian Robo Shankar Passes Away at 46

Mumbai : Popular Tamil actor and comedian Robo Shankar has passed away at the age of 46 due to multiple organ failure.

The actor, who was admitted to a Chennai hospital after collapsing on a film set, was undergoing treatment for a severe gastrointestinal bleed and related complications. Despite doctors’ efforts, he breathed his last on September 18, 2025, around 9:05 pm.

Fondly known as “Robo” for his unique robotic dance style during his early stage shows, Shankar went on to establish himself as one of Tamil cinema’s most loved comedians. He appeared in several hit films including Viswasam, Maari, Puli, and Cobra.

He is survived by his wife, Priyanka, and daughter, Indraja. His sudden demise has left fans and colleagues in deep shock, with tributes pouring in from the Tamil film industry and political leaders alike.
