Mumbai : A special meeting aimed at strengthening unity among political and social organizations for the liberation of the historic Mahabodhi Mahavihara in Bodh Gaya will be held in Mumbai on September 10, 2025. Ahead of the meeting, a press conference will be organized today at the central office of the Republican Party of India (Ramdas Athawale).
Senior leaders of the Republican Party, including Avinash Mahatekar, Gautam Sonawane, Siddharth Kasare, and Suresh Barshinge, along with other prominent representatives, will participate in the event.
The meeting’s primary objective is to formulate a collective strategy among various groups and organizations to give strong direction to the movement for the liberation of Mahabodhi Mahavihara.
Representatives stressed that this initiative is not only essential for protecting religious and cultural heritage but also for fostering unity and cooperation among all sections and communities of society. They highlighted that the liberation of Mahabodhi Mahavihara is more than a matter of religious rights—it symbolizes global cultural heritage and social justice.
During the meeting, leaders and representatives will discuss proposed programs, strategies, future plans, and the legal and administrative measures required to strengthen the movement. The aim is to ensure a unified approach from all participating organizations.
According to the Republican Party and other social organizations, the gathering will serve as a common platform where communities and groups can voice their concerns and pledge their support to the cause of Mahabodhi Mahavihara’s liberation.
