After a long wait of over 16 years, Solapur is finally set to be connected by air to Mumbai and Bengaluru. The new flight services, operated by Star Air, will begin from October 15, 2025, offering much-needed connectivity for residents, businesses, and travelers.
According to the Maharashtra government, the flights will operate four days a week — Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.

Solapur → Mumbai: Departs 12:55 PM
Mumbai → Solapur: Departs 2:45 PM
Solapur → Bengaluru: Departs 4:15 PM
Bengaluru → Solapur: Departs 11:10 AM
Bookings for these routes will open from September 20, 2025.
💡 Significance
The launch of these routes is expected to reduce travel time drastically and boost business, tourism, and employment opportunities in the Solapur region. The project also falls under the Viability Gap Funding (VGF) scheme to ensure affordable air travel and sustainable operations.
Local leaders and residents have welcomed the move, calling it a “historic step” that will help Solapur integrate more closely with Maharashtra’s economic hubs.
