Mumbai : In a swift and commendable operation, the Crime Branch Unit 1 of Kashi Mira cracked a robbery case within 12 hours, arresting two individuals involved in snatching a gold chain worth ₹2.5 lakh from a 72-year-old woman.
The incident occurred on July 15, 2025, in the Mira Road area when the elderly woman was returning home from a hospital visit. The accused — Shahzad Haidari from Uttar Pradesh and Abu Torab from Mumbai — targeted the victim and fled with her gold chain.
Acting swiftly on clues, police traced the duo to the Suryanagri Express train and apprehended them. The stolen gold chain was successfully recovered. Shockingly, investigations revealed that Shahzad Haidari has a criminal history involving 19 previous cases.
Authorities have lauded the prompt and effective response of the Crime Branch Unit 1 in solving the case and restoring a sense of security in the community.
