Sara Tendulkar, daughter of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, has firmly put to rest ongoing speculation about a possible Bollywood debut. In a recent interview, the 27-year-old clarified that she has no plans to step into the Hindi film industry, revealing that her introverted nature keeps her away from the spotlight.
In a candid conversation with Vogue India, Sara opened up about her personal interests, academic journey, and her comfort zone. When asked if she’s considering a career in acting, she replied, “I do a lot of things. My foundation work is a full-time focus, and I also explore fashion, beauty, and lifestyle as a content creator. I choose projects that feel authentic. Acting, however, is not something I’m drawn to. I’m an introvert and the idea of being in front of the camera makes me anxious. I don’t think I’d do justice to the role—it would cause more stress than satisfaction.”
Sara, who holds a bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences and a master’s in clinical nutrition and public health from University College London, said she’s always leaned more towards academics than athletics, despite growing up in a household rooted in sports, medicine, and philanthropy. She currently serves as a director at the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation.
She also reflected on the unrealistic beauty standards shaped by social media, saying, “The more you look for flaws, the more you’ll find. Today it’s your arms, tomorrow it’s your nose or your hair. It’s a cycle. Even I catch myself admiring someone’s perfect skin, but then I remind myself that Instagram isn’t real life. There’s too much pressure to follow these 15-step beauty routines—it’s not always sustainable. You have to do what works for you.”
