Mumbai : Frequent accidents on MMC Road in Mahim West have sparked major safety concerns among residents, particularly near Canossa School, where the absence of speed breakers has put pedestrians and schoolchildren at risk.
Local social worker Owais Qureshi, who lives on MMC Road, highlighted that the number of accidents has risen significantly, endangering both children and daily commuters.
Supporting the demand, Syed Gulzar Rana, a member of the Mahim Residents Group, urged authorities to act immediately. He appealed to Assistant Municipal Commissioner (G North Ward) Vinayak Vispute and Chief Engineer (Roads) Girish Nikam to construct speed breakers without delay to prevent further mishaps.
Residents believe that installing speed breakers will not only reduce reckless driving but also ensure greater safety for students, senior citizens, and the general public in the area.
