Repeat Launch Signals Readiness

Share:

Pakistan conducted its second missile test in three days on May 5, 2025, amid escalating tensions with India following a deadly attack in Indian-administered Kashmir. The test involved the Fatah series surface-to-surface missile, which has a range of 120 kilometers. This followed the successful launch of the Abdali missile, a 450-kilometer range system, on May 3. Both tests were described as training exercises aimed at validating technical parameters and enhancing defense readiness.

In response, India has ordered security drills across multiple states, including air raid sirens and evacuation protocols, to prepare for potential escalations. The United Nations and other international bodies have called for restraint, while Iran’s foreign minister is visiting both countries to mediate the situation. Moody’s has warned that the standoff could set back Pakistan’s economic reforms, as the country faces challenges in securing external financing and maintaining foreign-exchange reserves.

The situation remains fluid, with both nations on high alert and diplomatic efforts underway to de-escalate tensions.
