In response to cross-border drone incursions on May 8, the Indian Air Force (IAF) activated its comprehensive air defence network, deploying counter-unmanned aerial systems (CUAS), Pechora surface-to-air missiles, SAMAR systems, and air defence guns.
The IAF stated that its air defence remains “impregnable and vigilant,” with all assets on high alert to counter any aerial threats. The force undertook a “measured and calibrated” response, ensuring both effective deterrence and the safety of civilian areas.
The IAF’s air defence shield continues to protect vulnerable regions, reaffirming its steadfast commitment to national security.
