Pune Police Arrest 42 Repeat Offenders for Illegal Liquor Trade Ahead of Ganeshotsav

Pune | In a major crackdown on illicit liquor trade ahead of Ganeshotsav, Pune Police have arrested 42 repeat offenders involved in bootlegging activities. The arrests were made under Section 93 of the Maharashtra Prohibition Act as a preventive measure to maintain law and order during the festive season.

The operation, led by DCP Somay Munde of Zone 4, specifically targeted the sale and distribution of “hathbhatti” (illicit country liquor). Police officials stated that the move aims to curb illegal liquor circulation and ensure peaceful festivities across the city.
