Palghar: The Local Crime Branch of Palghar intercepted an Eicher Tempo (No. DD03R9277) on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway near Talasari. During the operation, police seized ₹6.06 lakh worth of smuggled gutkha and confiscated a total of ₹16.06 lakh worth of goods, including the vehicle. Three individuals from Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan were taken into custody. A case has been registered at Talasari police station. Authorities said the operation underscores ongoing efforts to prevent illegal activities during festival seasons such as Ganesh Utsav.
