Ola-Uber Drivers’ Strike Continues for Second Day, Commuters Face Major Inconvenience

Mumbai : The ongoing strike by Ola and Uber drivers in Maharashtra entered its second day, causing severe inconvenience to daily commuters across major cities. The drivers are demanding the immediate implementation of the aggregator policy and pay parity with kaali-peeli (black-and-yellow) taxi drivers.
The protest, led by various unions, has affected cab availability and led to a spike in fares for other modes of transport. Commuters complained of long waiting times and overcharging by auto-rickshaws and private taxis.
The drivers allege that despite repeated appeals, the government has not taken concrete steps to regulate aggregator platforms or address their long-standing grievances regarding commission cuts and lack of benefits.
Union representatives warned that the strike will continue until the government meets their demands. Authorities have urged both sides to engage in dialogue to resolve the issue promptly
