Palghar : The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has invited tenders for a 32.18-km access-controlled expressway that will slash travel time between Vadhvan Port and Tawa from the current 90 minutes to just 30 minutes.
The project, estimated at ₹2,575 crore, is expected to be completed within two and a half years once construction begins early next year. The expressway will provide faster connectivity for freight and commuters, boosting economic activity in the region.
For the project, 600 hectares of land across 24 villages are required, out of which 50% has already been acquired. Joint assessments have been completed in 22 villages, ensuring smoother progress in land acquisition.
Officials said the new link will play a crucial role in strengthening regional logistics and ensuring seamless access to the upcoming Vadhvan Port.
