Mumbai :- A school bus driver in Navi Mumbai has been arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a four-year-old student, triggering anger among parents who allege the school principal initially dismissed their concerns.

The incident surfaced after the young child confided in her parents about the alleged abuse. When they approached the school authorities, they were reportedly told by the principal that the child was “imagining things.” Dissatisfied with the school’s inaction, the parents lodged a complaint with the police, resulting in the immediate arrest of the driver.

Authorities have filed a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and an investigation is underway. The school management has not yet issued any public statement regarding the incident.

The case has sparked renewed fears over child safety within educational institutions, with parents urging stronger measures to ensure student protection and accountability.
