Navi Mumbai witnessed a strong show of public anger on Tuesday as the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) led a massive ‘Thaalinaad Morcha’ in Ghansoli to protest against persistent civic issues.
Hundreds of residents, including senior citizens, women, and local activists, marched from D-Mart to the Ghansoli divisional ward office via Dagdu Chougule Patil Chowk, banging plates to draw attention to their grievances.
Protesters highlighted long-standing problems such as poor infrastructure, contaminated and inadequate water supply, broken roads and footpaths, unauthorized constructions, unmanaged garbage, and a dangerously polluted drain. They also cited rising cases of dengue and malaria due to poor sanitation and inadequate fumigation.
Photographs of overflowing garbage bins, damaged public amenities, and neglected parks were presented as evidence. Residents accused the civic administration of ignoring complaints and warned of intensified agitation if immediate corrective action is not taken.
The protest saw participation from various MNS wings, including the Movie Army, Youth Wing, Employment Wing, and Social Welfare Wing, alongside numerous local citizens.
