A 24-year-old man from Mumbra, identified as Fardin Samir Khan, has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman in a lodge in Navi Mumbai’s Mhape MIDC area. Police say Khan spiked the woman’s drink and blackmailed her using objectionable photos before taking her to the lodge on May 25.
The incident reportedly occurred between 10:30 AM and 4 PM. Rabale police arrested Khan on Sunday under charges of rape and other offences as per the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is ongoing.
In a separate case from Uttar Pradesh, a 26-year-old man, Prem Kumar Ram, was arrested in Ballia for allegedly kidnapping and raping a 15-year-old girl from his village. Police say he took the minor to Satna, Madhya Pradesh, on May 25. The girl was later rescued by her father, and the accused has been booked under BNS and the POCSO Act.
Another disturbing incident was reported in UP’s Hathras, where a man was arrested for allegedly raping a 65-year-old woman in her home. The accused, a neighbour, entered the house while she was sleeping. Her screams alerted locals, but the accused fled. He was later arrested following the complaint and a medical exam of the victim.
Police in all three cases have confirmed arrests, and investigations are in progress.
