Nashik: The Nashik Police have clarified the circumstances surrounding a viral video allegedly showing a rickshaw driver assaulting a passenger near Thakkar Bazar, close to the Government District Hospital. The Mumbai Naka police station acted swiftly, detaining two suspects in connection with the incident.
Police investigations revealed that the viral video was misleading. In reality, a tourist reportedly used abusive language towards a child near a public toilet. The child informed their father, who, along with a toilet attendant, confronted and assaulted the tourist. The rickshaw driver shown in the video was not involved in the incident.
The two detained suspects were reportedly shouting slogans claiming, “नाशिक जिल्हा कायद्याचाच बालेकिल्ला” during the incident. The police emphasized that prompt action helped uncover the truth and prevent misinformation from spreading.
