Nagpur: In a startling development, the Nagpur police have arrested Sanket Buggewar, the son of former BJP corporator Ajay Buggewar, for allegedly trafficking the synthetic drug MD (Mephedrone). The arrest was made by the Ganeshpeth Police, who seized 16.07 grams of MD powder valued at ₹1.67 lakh, along with other material totaling ₹18.17 lakh in worth.
Sanket, a well-known bodybuilder and gym trainer, had won a gold medal and clinched the prestigious Mr. India title at the Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship held in Delhi in November 2022. His involvement in the drug trade has shocked political and fitness circles in Nagpur.
Police investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the operation and any possible links to larger drug networks.
