“Munde Faces Heat for Holding Onto ‘Satpuda’ Bungalow Despite Owning Plush Sea-View Flat; Bhujbal Left Waiting”

Mumbai : Former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Dhananjay Munde continues to occupy Mumbai’s official “Satpuda” bungalow months after stepping down from his post in March. This is despite reportedly owning a high-end sea-facing apartment in Girgaon and accumulating over ₹42 lakh in penalties for overstaying.

Munde’s refusal to vacate has delayed the move-in of senior minister Chhagan Bhujbal, who was allotted the bungalow in May. The prolonged occupation has sparked criticism over preferential treatment and misuse of government housing. While Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has confirmed awareness of the situation, there is still no clarity on when the handover will take place.

The row has reignited debates on transparency and accountability in the allotment of official residences to public officials.
