Mumbai : The historic Carnac Bridge in South Mumbai, which was demolished in November 2022 after serving the city for 154 years, has been reconstructed and renamed as the ‘Sindoor’ Bridge in honor of Operation Sindoor. The newly built structure will be inaugurated on July 10.
Now officially titled the Sindoor Flyover, the bridge plays a crucial role in connecting the eastern and western parts of South Mumbai. Located near Masjid Bunder Railway Station, it links PD Mello Road with key commercial hubs.
The inauguration ceremony will be presided over by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, with Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, and Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar also in attendance
