Mumbai, October 30: The Four Bungalows Gurudwara Sahib in Andheri West, Mumbai, has extended humanitarian assistance worth ₹50 lakh to rebuild flood-affected villages across Punjab, showcasing the true essence of seva (selfless service).
Under the leadership of President Sardar Jaspal Singh Suri and Maninder Singh Suri, the Gurudwara committee and volunteers carried out extensive relief and rehabilitation operations in the districts of Ferozepur, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, and Ajnala. The aid included food supplies, medicines, relief kits, and even boats for safe evacuation during the floods.
After the waters receded, efforts shifted toward rebuilding lives. In Dubbar village (Ajnala), the Gurudwara funded wheat crop cultivation across 75 acres of farmland, largely benefiting SC and low-income farmers. In Harar Kalan (Amritsar district), it adopted the entire village, covering 125 acres of farmland with seeds, fertilizers, and diesel for the next crop cycle.
In a heart-touching gesture, Mr. Suri personally intervened when a distressed farmer in Ferozepur attempted suicide after losing his cattle — visiting him at the hospital and extending ₹1.30 lakh in financial support. The Gurudwara also sponsored weddings for three farmers’ daughters and undertook construction of new houses for families whose homes were destroyed.
Relief camps were equipped with 200 beds and fogging machines to mitigate health risks.
Expressing gratitude, Sardar Jaspal Singh Suri said, “This mission was not just about relief — it was about restoring dignity, hope, and livelihoods. I thank every volunteer and member of the Sangat who made this possible.”
He also acknowledged the dedicated contributions of Bollywood and Punjabi film fight master Mohan Baggad, along with Jagpal Singh Sandhu, Gurdit Singh, Sukhjinderpal Singh, Sunny Singh, Abhishek Pratap, and Yashpal Singh.
