Mumbai : Continuous monsoon showers over the past few days have boosted water storage in Mumbai’s seven reservoirs to 89.02% of their total capacity, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) reported.
Current water levels in the reservoirs are:
Modak Sagar: 97.24%
Tansa: 97.92%
Middle Vaitarna: 94.47%
Bhatsa: 86.71%
Tulsi: 85.22%
Vihar: 74.71%
Upper Vaitarna: 83.20%
In the past 24 hours, the Bhandup Complex received 1 mm of rainfall, taking this season’s cumulative total to 1,329 mm. With several lakes nearing full capacity, gates at Middle Vaitarna, Bhatsa, and Tulsi have been closed to regulate water flow.
Officials say the current storage levels will help ensure adequate water supply for Mumbai in the coming months.
