Mumbai Police Seize Mephedrone Worth ₹10.07 Crore in Major Anti-Narcotics Raids; Five Held

Mumbai : In a massive crackdown on drug trafficking, Mumbai Police’s Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) conducted coordinated raids across Malad, Jogeshwari, Dadar, and Navi Mumbai, seizing 4 kg of mephedrone (MD) worth ₹10.07 crore. Five accused, including a Nigerian national, were arrested.

Jogeshwari West: The Ghatkopar Unit arrested a suspect with 1.022 kg of MD valued at ₹2.55 crore.

Malad East: The Bandra Unit caught another peddler with 766 gm of MD worth ₹1.91 crore.

MIDC Navi Mumbai: Two men were nabbed with 1.556 kg of MD valued at ₹3.89 crore.

Dadar: The Worli Unit arrested a 48-year-old Nigerian national in possession of 690 gm of MD worth ₹1.72 crore. He was already wanted in a previous drug case.

Police said the operation was part of an intensified campaign against narcotics in the city. In a separate raid earlier this year, ANC had seized 12.664 kg of MD worth ₹24.47 crore in Karjat under the “Drug-Free Govandi” drive, bringing the total number of drug-related cases registered so far to 75.
