Mumbi : Mumbai Police have seized banned gutkha products worth ₹4.7 lakh during a raid in the city and arrested a man named Tanveer in connection with the case.
Acting on a tip-off, officials from the Sewri police station intercepted a suspicious vehicle and discovered a large quantity of illegal gutkha hidden inside. The accused, identified as Tanveer, was taken into custody on the spot.
The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Food Safety and Standards Act and further investigations are underway to trace the supply network and other people involved.
