Mumbai Police Bust Major Cyber Fraud Gang, Arrest 12 Including Husband-Wife Duo; ₹60.82 Crore Scammed

Mumbai : In a major crackdown, Mumbai Police have arrested 12 individuals, including a husband-wife pair, for running a large-scale cyber fraud operation that allegedly swindled around ₹60.82 crore from victims across India.

The accused reportedly executed the fraud by purchasing bank accounts and SIM cards to deceive people online. During raids, police recovered 2 laptops, 25 mobile phones, 25 bank passbooks, 30 chequebooks, 46 ATM cards, a swipe machine, and 104 SIM cards from various telecom providers.

An FIR has been registered under sections 318(4) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Samta Nagar police station. Authorities are investigating further to trace additional accomplices and victims.
