Mumbai: The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) on Thursday launched its new AI-powered chatbot, ‘Mhaadasathi’, to provide citizens with quick and reliable services.

In its first phase, the chatbot has been made available on MHADA’s official website, offering instant access to accurate information. According to Sanjiv Jaiswal, Chief Executive Officer and Vice President of MHADA, the service will soon be rolled out on mobile platforms in the second phase.

The initiative aims to reduce citizens’ difficulties by minimizing office visits, cutting long waiting times, and ensuring faster delivery of services. Available in both Marathi and English, the chatbot also features a voice-based option for user-friendly communication.

Through Mhaadasathi, citizens can access comprehensive information related to MHADA’s functioning, computerized lottery system, housing projects, application status, tender notices, and updated rules and regulations.

Jaiswal also highlighted that MHADA’s digital initiatives have reduced waiting times at its Citizen Facilitation Center to just 7–8 minutes. Additionally, citizens can now scan and submit documents at the center, with future upgrades planned to allow submissions directly from home.

With nearly 15 crore documents now available online, the number of Right to Information (RTI) applications has also declined significantly.

This AI-driven initiative marks a major step in MHADA’s digital transformation, ensuring faster, easier, and more transparent services for citizens.
