Mumbai College Girl Harassed in Ladies’ Train Compartment, Video Shared Online

Share:

A 19-year-old college student was reportedly harassed while travelling in the First Class Ladies’ Compartment of a local train between Goregaon and Vile Parle. The disturbing incident came to light through a Reddit post by a friend of the victim, who shared that the man made lewd and unsettling remarks toward the student shortly after she boarded the train.

According to the post, the man passed by and said “Wow” in a “creepy” manner. Frightened but composed, the student moved further into the compartment and discreetly began recording him with her phone. The man appeared to sense he was being filmed and eventually walked away. Still, the student pretended to be on a phone call while continuing to record, successfully capturing his face on camera.

The victim’s friend wrote, “Imagine if he had entered after the train started. There were only two other women in the compartment. My friend had to stay there until the next station ,and what if he had followed her to college?”

The video of the man was shared with the intention of helping identify him. The post urged social media users and Mumbai Police to act swiftly.

While the video gained significant traction online receiving over 1,500 upvotes on Reddit ,no official response from the authorities has been reported at the time of writing.

Reddit Users Speak Out
The post prompted a wave of reactions from Reddit users, many condemning the man’s actions and expressing support for the student.

One user commented, “What happened is truly horrible, and your friend didn’t deserve that. But please don’t lose faith. Mumbai isn’t perfect, but many care and take a stand. Let’s report this and ensure he’s held accountable.”

Another added, “That man needs to be taught a lesson ideally by women. I hope someone confronts him someday.”

A third user wrote, “It’s shocking this happened in what’s supposed to be the safest part of the train.”

The Reddit thread has sparked conversations around women’s safety in public transport, once again highlighting the urgent need for stronger preventive measures and swift action.
