Mumbai : Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers vandalised the ‘Night Rider’ dance bar in Panvel, Navi Mumbai, late Saturday night. The incident came shortly after a fiery statement by MNS Chief Raj Thackeray, who condemned the rising number of dance bars in Raigad district.

During his address at the annual festival of the Shetkari Kamgar Party, Thackeray questioned the presence of numerous dance bars in Raigad, calling it the capital of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He expressed concern that while the region holds great historical significance, it has become a hotspot for such establishments, many of which are allegedly exploiting local Marathi youth.

Responding swiftly to the remarks, MNS workers stormed the bar near the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, alleging that it operated late into the night. Armed with sticks, the group caused significant damage to the premises, asserting that their action was a protest against the cultural degradation of the region.

Police are investigating the incident. No injuries have been reported so far.
