Navi Mumbai: The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has announced a protest march titled ‘Dhol Bajao Morcha’ to be held in Belapur on Friday, June 27. The protest will begin at 10:30 AM from Sakal Bhavan near Belapur Railway Station and proceed toward the Belapur Ward Office.
Organized to highlight growing public frustration over persistent civic issues in Belapur and Seawoods, the protest is a response to what MNS leaders describe as long-standing negligence by the municipal authorities. MNS Navi Mumbai City President and spokesperson Gajanan Kale will lead the march, which will feature demonstrators beating drums as a symbolic gesture to demand action and accountability.
“This is not just about waterlogging or potholes. From the very first rains, it became clear that basic drainage maintenance has been ignored. Roads are in ruins, footpaths are crumbling, and public amenities are in a shameful state,” said MNS City Secretary Sachin Kadam.
In addition to waterlogging and damaged roads, the MNS has also raised concerns about encroachments, poor infrastructure in newly built school buildings, neglected public gardens, and inadequate healthcare facilities. Kale urged residents of Belapur and Seawoods to join the morcha in large numbers, emphasizing that the protest represents the collective voice of the community.
“We will confront the authorities and demand immediate redressal. This isn’t political—it’s about the people who are forced to live with broken systems,” he stated.
The MNS has made it clear that the protest is aimed at pushing for concrete results and will continue to raise its voice until meaningful improvements are implemented.
