Mumbai: Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP Milind Deora lauded the Shiv Sena and BJP for organising vibrant Dahi Handi celebrations in South Mumbai on the occasion of Gokulashtami.
Despite persistent heavy rains, thousands of enthusiastic spectators gathered to witness the traditional human pyramid formations, popularly known as Govindas, who spiritedly broke the Dahi Handi pots.
Deora, who attended the event, praised the organisers for preserving Mumbai’s cultural legacy. “The atmosphere everywhere was filled with excitement and joy,” he said.
He further commended the party workers for transforming South Mumbai into a hub of Gokulashtami festivities. “I extend my heartfelt thanks to all the office bearers for the invitation, and special congratulations for turning South Mumbai into a centre of Dahi Handi celebrations. A big thank you to the Shiv Sena and BJP karyakartas, and to all the spirited Govindas who made the event a grand success,” Deora added.
