MHADA Homebuyers Demand Refund of Overcharged Amounts with 18% Interest

Share:

Mumbai :- Buyers of Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) homes have filed legal petitions alleging they were charged higher prices than initially agreed. They are now seeking refunds of the excess amount paid, along with 18% interest.

According to the petitioners, MHADA revised the housing prices after confirming bookings, causing unexpected financial pressure. They accuse the authority of lacking transparency in its pricing methods and are demanding full reimbursement with interest to cover the delay.

While MHADA has not yet issued an official response, sources reveal that the issue is currently under review. The case reflects growing dissatisfaction among affordable housing applicants and could influence future MHADA pricing policies.

Legal experts note that a court ruling in favor of the buyers could set a major precedent for handling similar disputes in government-run housing projects.
