Marathi actor Dhananjay Koli was among eight people who tragically lost their lives in a major accident near the Navale Bridge on the Pune–Bengaluru highway. The crash occurred when a container truck reportedly lost control and rammed into several vehicles, triggering a massive fire.
Koli’s car was crushed between two heavy vehicles, leaving him fatally injured. Several others, including members of a single family and a three-year-old child, also died in the blaze. Over a dozen people sustained injuries in the incident.
Police have registered a case of culpable homicide against the truck driver, cleaner, and owner amid suspicions of brake failure and overloading.
The Navale Bridge stretch has been flagged as a high-risk accident zone for years, with repeated fatal crashes raising concerns about safety measures in the area.
