Navi Mumbai, June 4:-

In a proactive step ahead of the monsoon season, three-time BJP MLA from Belapur, Manda Mhatre, visited the Monsoon Water Lifting Centre (Pump House) located in Sector-12, along Sarovar Vihar Marg, Reti Bandar Road, CBD Belapur. The inspection began at 11:00 AM and focused on assessing the infrastructure’s preparedness for heavy rains.

The holding pond and pump house are crucial for preventing flooding in low-lying parts of Belapur. These systems help manage stormwater runoff, especially during peak rainfall days when the risk of waterlogging increases significantly.

Speaking on the occasion, a representative from Mhatre’s office stated, “This inspection is part of a broader effort to ensure that essential monsoon infrastructure is functional and effective. Our priority is the safety and well-being of the residents.”

Manda Mhatre’s visit comes amid civic concerns across Navi Mumbai about clogged drains, aging equipment, and potential monsoon disruptions. The review of the pump house aims to address any shortcomings and ensure that emergency systems are in place.

Local residents and engineers from the municipal maintenance department were present during the inspection. The MLA also reviewed backup power systems and stormwater discharge mechanisms to confirm they were in working order.

With the monsoon expected to hit the region soon, the visit marks a timely initiative to reinforce public confidence and push for accountability in monsoon management.
