Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday said that the police, Coast Guard, and Navy are in a heightened state of alert across the state, and all Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) are being strictly followed.
Speaking to reporters, Fadnavis announced that a review meeting to assess the state’s internal security would be held later in the day.
He was responding to questions regarding coastal security measures, a day after Indian forces successfully repelled Pakistan’s missile and drone attacks on key military installations.
“Police, Navy and Coast Guard are on alert. Regular exercises are being conducted, and all steps outlined in the war book are being implemented. A review meeting on internal security will be convened later today. We are in alert mode,” Fadnavis said.
India also thwarted further Pakistani attacks late Thursday night, successfully intercepting missiles and drones aimed at military bases in Jammu, Pathankot, Udhampur, and other areas.
