The Maharashtra government has launched the “Ladki Bahin Yojana”, a new initiative aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs by providing loans of up to ₹1,00,000. The scheme is designed to support women in starting or expanding small businesses across the state.
Under the program, monthly repayments are made manageable, with installments deducted from a fixed honorarium of ₹1,500. The scheme encourages women, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas, to form groups, start micro-enterprises, and achieve financial independence.
Officials stated that the scheme not only promotes women’s entrepreneurship but also contributes to the state’s broader goal of inclusive economic growth.
