Thane : Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde attended the ‘Maharashtra Medical Entrepreneur Honor’ ceremony organized by the Sadhana Foundation Trust in Thane, where he felicitated several doctors for their outstanding contributions to the medical field.
Addressing the gathering, Shinde praised the dedication and humanitarian spirit of the medical community, stating, “A doctor is someone who pulls a person from the brink of death and gives them a new life. That is why they are considered a form of God.” He further emphasized that despite limitations, doctors continue to serve patients selflessly, embodying the belief that “Service to humanity is service to God.”
During the ceremony, distinguished doctors including Dr. Yogesh Suryavanshi, Dr. Praveen Jadhav, Dr. Skilled Koli, Dr. Sushil Singh, Dr. Madhura Kulkarni, Dr. Jitendra Pawar, Dr. Budhlani, and Dr. Rajiv Shinde were honored for their commendable service.
Shinde also recalled the tireless efforts of doctors during critical times like the COVID-19 pandemic and floods in Kolhapur, noting how doctors from Thane extended support without expecting personal gain.
Highlighting impactful health initiatives, he spoke about the campaign “Mother is Safe if Home is Safe,” through which medical checkups were conducted for 3 crore women. Additionally, he mentioned the “Deputy Chief Minister Healthy Women” campaign launched in Thane by the Thane Municipal Corporation in collaboration with Aditya Birla Group and Rotary Club. This initiative facilitated health screenings for over five lakh women within three months, including testing for uterine and oral cancer, HPV vaccinations for girls aged 9 to 14, and assessments for diabetes and hemoglobin.
Deputy CM Shinde reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the medical sector and ensuring it receives the assistance it needs.
The event was graced by several dignitaries including Dr. Samidha Gore (President, Sadhana Foundation), Dr. J. B. Bhor, Kailash Pawar, Dinkar Desai, Pradeep Dhaval, Shiv Sena Secretary Ram Repale, former Mayor Ashok Vaiti, and numerous respected doctors, medical officers, and healthcare staff.
