Maharashtra Cabinet Clears Key Decisions: Loan Guarantee for VAMMC, Funds for LIT Nagpur, and PMAY Concessions in Solapur

Mumbai : The Maharashtra Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has approved several major proposals aimed at boosting infrastructure, education, and housing in the state.

Among the key decisions:

Government Guarantee for VAMMC Project:
The state will provide a guarantee for the loan taken by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) to fund land acquisition for the Virar–Alibag Multimodal Corridor (VAMMC).

Funding for LIT Nagpur:
The government has sanctioned an annual grant of ₹7 crore for the Laxminarayan Institute of Technology (LIT), Nagpur, covering the financial years 2025–26 to 2029–30.

PMAY Concessions in Solapur:
A housing project under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in Kumbhari village, Solapur, will receive concessions including waivers on earnest money, lease premiums, and land conversion fees. The project aims to provide 30,000 homes for unorganised workers.

Additional cabinet decisions include:

Setting up a new Urban Health Commissioner’s office to strengthen healthcare administration.

Granting agriculture-equivalent benefits to the fisheries sector, allowing access to subsidised credit and lower interest rates.

Approving the closure of MAHA ARC Ltd, the state’s asset reconstruction company, following the RBI’s refusal to grant it a license in 2023.

These decisions highlight the government’s focus on economic growth, infrastructure expansion, and social welfare in the upcoming financial year.
