Jennifer Aniston Stalker Ordered Into Mental Health Evaluation After Crashing Car Into Her Home Gate

A judge in a Los Angeles court has ordered a mental health evaluation for a man accused of stalking actor Jennifer Aniston and crashing his car into the front gate of her home. The suspect, identified as 48-year-old Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, appeared shirtless and wrapped in a blanket behind protective glass during his court appearance on Thursday.

The judge directed Carwyle to undergo evaluation in mental health court to determine whether he is competent to face felony charges of stalking and vandalism. He did not speak or enter a plea during the hearing. His attorney, Deputy Public Defender Toral Malik, entered a not-guilty plea on his behalf.

Prosecutors allege that Carwyle had been harassing the Friends star for nearly two years through voicemails, emails, and social media messages. He was arrested on May 5 after reportedly ramming his vehicle into Aniston’s front gate in Bel Air while she was at home. A security guard detained him until police arrived.

During the hearing, Judge Keith L. Schwartz questioned whether Carwyle could even comprehend a protective order. Nevertheless, he issued a strict no-contact order, stating, “You are not to have any contact with Jennifer Aniston under any conditions.” Carwyle remains in custody on $150,000 bail.

Fans React to Court Images

Photos of Carwyle in court, where he appeared shirtless and smiling, have surfaced online and sparked concern among Aniston’s fans. Many called the images disturbing, with some commenters saying they were unprepared for how unsettling the photos were.

Comments included, “This is terrifying,” and “That close-up gave me nightmares.” Others suggested that the public should have been spared such imagery, with one fan writing, “A courtroom sketch would’ve been more than enough.”

Background on the Case

The crash occurred around 12:20 p.m. on May 5, when officers received a report of a vehicle colliding with the gate of Aniston’s residence. The LAPD confirmed that a security guard on site was able to detain the intruder before police took him into custody without incident.

Court documents indicate that Carwyle had been harassing Aniston from March 1, 2023, to May 5, 2025, and had repeatedly sent her unsolicited messages and voicemails. He is facing felony charges for both stalking and vandalism.
