Mumbai: Former Chairman of the Maulana Azad Minorities Finance Development Corporation (MAMFDC) and noted educationist Javed Sir Shroff has lauded Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray for extending timely help to around 500 students who were stranded in heavy traffic on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway on Tuesday evening.
The students, who were returning from a picnic in 15 buses, were stuck for several hours due to a massive traffic jam caused by ongoing roadworks. Upon learning about the situation, Raj Thackeray immediately contacted MNS workers and local authorities to provide assistance.
MNS workers reached the site, distributed water and food to the stranded students, and ensured their safe return home.
Praising the initiative, Javed Sir Shroff posted on X (formerly Twitter): “Appreciate the yeomen & good initiative of Shri @RajThackeray ji to have made arrangements for the students stuck in traffic on the highway and provided safe passage.”
Javed Sir Shroff, who also heads the Habib Group of Trusts, Schools, Colleges, and Hospitals, said such humanitarian acts should be recognised as they encourage others to step forward and help those in need.
