IRCTC Website Faces Major Outage Amid Diwali Tatkal Booking Rush

Share:

Mumbai : The IRCTC website crashed on Friday morning as thousands of passengers rushed to book Tatkal tickets ahead of Diwali. The sudden surge in traffic caused the online ticketing platform to go down, leaving users unable to log in or complete bookings.

According to reports on Downdetector, complaints about the website began pouring in around 10 a.m., right when Tatkal bookings for popular routes opened. Many users encountered “server not available” errors, while others reported that payments were deducted but tickets were not confirmed.

Frustrated passengers took to social media to vent their anger, calling out IRCTC for not improving its infrastructure despite repeated issues during festive seasons.

This is not the first time the IRCTC portal has experienced downtime during high-demand periods. Similar technical glitches have occurred in the past during festival rushes, leaving many travelers stranded or forced to change their plans.
