Indo-Pak Tensions Force Aussies to Cut IPL Stay Short

Share:

Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, several Australian cricketers and coaches have been departing India, particularly following the suspension of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

The IPL was indefinitely postponed after a match between Delhi and Punjab was called off due to a blackout caused by air raid warnings in Jammu and Pathankot. This raised significant safety concerns, prompting Australian players such as Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Marcus Stoinis, along with coaches Ricky Ponting and Brad Haddin, to arrange for their return to Australia. Most Australian participants in the IPL have already secured flights home.
