India Slams the Trade Door on Pakistan

Share:

News: India has recently suspended all imports and exports from Pakistan, including both direct and indirect trade, as well as barred Pakistani vessels from docking at Indian ports. This decision, announced by India’s Directorate General of Foreign Trade and the Directorate General of Shipping, is a response to escalating tensions following a deadly attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, on April 22, which resulted in the deaths of 26 tourists. India attributes the attack to Pakistan-based militants, a claim Islamabad denies. In retaliation, Pakistan has ceased border trade, closed its airspace to Indian aircraft, expelled Indian diplomats, and warned that any disruption to the Indus Waters Treaty would be considered an act of war.
